What's the secret?

As we got out of the car to open the farm gates and drove along the muddy track on a rainy day back in winter 2017, we knew there was no turning back now. We saw the blue box tucked in the corner next to a barn and immediately knew she was the one. Rotten in places, broken in others, we had a vision and we knew we'd found what we were looking for.

This was the day we took the plunge and decided to purchase a 1990's horse box trailer from a seller on Facebook after we'd been searching for months for the perfect trailer to turn into a mobile bar business.

Combining both of our event and hospitality experience along with our love for a 'proper' G&T in the sunshine, we decided to give a mobile bar business a go (and we're very glad we did!). We got to work straight away on renovating the trailer, ripping out the horse dividers and bolts and replacing with a beautiful bar top.

Once the renovations were underway, all that was left to do was decide on a name.. this took us quite a while to agree on so we took it back to basics and asked ourselves the following questions:

1. Why are we doing this

2. What is our USP

3. How would our customers describe us

Gin was booming at the time and we were enjoying all of the new gin's we were uncovering ourselves and wanted to share these with our customers. So it was a no brainer, we wanted to share underground and undiscovered gins so we called ourselves 'The Secret Gin Bar'!

Moving forward six years, we made the decision to move away from focusing just on gin (as the 'gin craze' slowed down) and we now call ourselves 'The Secret Bars' as we cover off a full bar service for our customers.

We are now very proud to have a full sized wooden bar, a second horse box in development, a smaller wooden bar for cocktail events and a gin tasting and cocktail making masterclass set up as part of our business.
